Building Continuity
Citibank hired our firm to fit-out seven new branches in the greater Philadelphia area. Many locations were occupied during construction, two of which had previously been restaurants; requiring extensive removal of old kitchen equipment. Material delivery was skillfully choreographed, and quiet hours were observed in deference to tenants working and living above and around the sites. One location required the landlord to raise the roof prior to construction and several layers of flooring necessitated significant leveling. Our firm dedicated the same staff to each project and used many of the same subcontractors. Our in-depth familiarity with Citi’s expectations, processes and preferences, allowed each bank to be completed on a 12-week schedule. We were also able to identify and pre-purchase long lead materials, many at reduced cost.
LEED
Citibank’s 5,000sf Cottman Avenue location applied for LEED certification. Prior to construction, our team drafted indoor air quality (IAQ), construction waste and concrete cutting management plans for LEED compliance. We were able to achieve an 85% recovery by separating and recycling all site debris and trash. For this branch we:
- used low VOC paint, solvent and glue, green label carpet and tiles
- mounted low-flow faucet aerators to increase pressure while using less water
- installed toilets with dual buttons to control water flow
- installed a new air handling unit and energy efficient lighting fixtures
- installed a bike rack to promote a cleaner and healthier form of transportation
