Complicated Construction Logistics
Made to Work

Construction services were provided for the 41,000sf three phase renovation to Edelman’s office space in Washington, DC around their on-going operations. For six months Structure Tone performed preconstruction services. This time was spent evaluating the scope of work vs. the budget constraints and logistics.

A phasing plan was established identifying how the work would be completed and how each employee would be accommodated during construction. Communication was also critical to the success of the project. We kept the client updated on the daily construction activities. The free flow of information eliminated confusion and allowed for the seamless relocation of employees as their space was updated.

The most challenging part of the renovation was the demolition and reconstruction of the common areas, conference rooms, reception area, lobby and entry way. This phase was sub-divided to maintain ways of entry into the fully occupied office space. Protective barriers were put up to segregate the space from the public and help control the dust. Pin-point accurate logistics plans were developed to ensure the safety and work environment for the employees, since this work was completed during working hours.
