Coordinating Overseas
Located in the heart of the Back Bay district of Boston, Copley Place features high-end retail stores such as Salvatore Ferragamo. This 3,200sf luxurious retail store incorporates both elegance and custom materials that were imported from around the world. High-end materials, such as stone from South Africa and walnut millwork from Italy, were key elements of the project.
Materials were prepurchased, along with additional custom finishes and fixtures, by the owner and managed by the Structure Tone team. We kept the owner informed on the status of the prepurchased materials, updating Ferragamo throughout the fabrication process. We diligently monitored shipping and estimated arrival dates, especially for the foreign materials, as delays are often customary.
Our team held weekly meetings with the owner and subcontractor to ensure milestones were met in preparation for our prepurchased materials. The process was necessary due to the weight and number of crates expected on site. The delivery of the millwork was accomplished by a foreman from Italy to assist with installation.
One of a Kind
To create a one-of-a-kind storefront, Salvatore Ferragamo requested the assistance of Structure Tone. We were tasked with finding a specialty metal to develop a custom window treatment. Our team was successful and found a unique chain mail mesh design, which now hangs in the store front.
