Managing Construction
Disney Worldwide Services relocated its KESN/ESPN broadcast station from Arlington to Irving, TX, and Structure Tone managed the construction. The 15,000sf project was completed within budget and on an aggressive seven-month schedule. The space includes:
- broadcast studios
- production/editing rooms
- private offices
- lobby
- sales area
- break room
- conference room
- equipment storage room
- 900sf rack room
Additional work involved the installation of HVAC equipment and two AHUs. We also utilized the existing generator, which resulted in cost-savings for Disney.
Quality and Quickly
Quality management was a key component for the construction of this space. Our team reviewed the design and oversaw the installation of everything from curved walls in the lobby and conference room to delicate specialty lighting. Finishes included stained wood millwork and bamboo and cork flooring. Structure Tone realized it was imperative to meet the seven-month schedule. The station needed six weeks prior to airing to train DJs and prepare for live broadcasts. As a result of hard work and long hours, the schedule was achieved and the space was turned over with ample time to implement training. The studio and office space met all of Disney’s expectations.
