MTV Networks selected Structure Tone to provide construction management services for its 72,000sf interior renovation and new broadcast facility. The scope of work included 12,000sf of demolition of existing space replaced by technical and specialty spaces, including a broadcast facility and studio, edit and dub rooms, and a tape library. The new technical broadcast facility and studio required 24/7 supplemental air conditioning, dedicated circuitry and acoustical considerations. Meticulous attention to detail was required for the new facility, which includes an equipment room that services edit and dub space. The tape library features mobile shelving units for maximum storage capacity. Our team, in order to accommodate the new technical requirements, made modifications to the cabling, HVAC system controls and security wiring and equipment.
Design
In an effort to appeal to the younger generation of employees at the Network, bold, bright colors and patterns exist throughout. The sleek and modern design of the space creates the desired youthful vibe and is a reflection of the audience with which the Network aims to connect. The “cool” and attractive collaborative areas and conference rooms inspire creativity and encourage staff interaction.
