Ropes & Gray
Boston, MA

LEED Gold Law Firm

When Ropes & Gray leased approximately 500,000sf over 18 floors of the Prudential Center, they looked to Structure Tone for the build-out. The new, LEED Gold certified office serves 1,800 employees and includes:

  • 14 practice floors
  • conference center
  • full food service facilities
  • technology department
  • record storage
  • data center
  • chiller plant

The conference center and kitchen and dining area on floors 48 and 49 were a focal point. From the complex audio/visual requirements for the conference center to the HVAC requirements for the kitchen, every element was installed and constructed seamlessly. In the conference center the HVAC equipment was installed outside the rooms to decrease noise. The ductwork was installed in the public corridors and feed into the mechanical room. The mechanical room’s new air handler is dedicated to floors 48 and 49.

Preconstruction Planning
Ensures Quality

Prior to construction start, Structure Tone provided extensive budgeting, scheduling, logistic planning, equipment pre-purchase and mock-up construction. During construction we held daily and weekly meetings with all subcontractors. We implemented an online project management system, which allowed trades to upload shop drawings in real-time. We monitored the layout online and quickly identified and resolved any potential challenges.
