Headquarters Renovation

Moving from its former headquarters location at 1211 Sixth Avenue, the New York branch of German bank, WestLB, relocated to 7 World Trade Center. Construction was performed on floors 50 through 52 in the occupied building. Coordinating with the Port Authority and building management and overseeing the LEED points system, Structure Tone managed the construction of the 130,000sf LEED Platinum certified space.

The finished space is an open layout plan with glass-fronted offices positioned at the building’s core and workstations around the perimeter of the building. Floor 52 is the executive level and features a large boardroom, custom oak flooring and paneling throughout, trading area, and reception. Additional scopes of work across the three floors entailed construction of an interconnecting stair, six conference rooms with state-of-the-art audio/visual systems as well as a data center and large training room.

Sustainable Construction

LEED Platinum-CI notable features:

  • lighting controls and occupancy sensors reduce overall lighting load by 18%
  • low-flow plumbing fixtures reduce water consumption by 23%
  • carbon dioxide sensors improve HVAC performance
  • natural daylighting for 90% of the office’s seated spaces
  • investment in renewable energy certificates driven by wind power across NY state

Our team installed all mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems for the three floors of office space and coordinated a series of inspections and approvals with Port Authority representatives. Four supplemental air units, a Lutron eco-daylight harvesting system that adjusts accordingly to sunlight and fire protection and life safety systems were installed.
