Design Coordination

The YMCA needed a new facility to serve the community of Plano, TX and our firm managed the construction for the non-profit organization. We worked closely with YMCA representatives and the design team to ensure the new facility would meet the community’s needs as well as promote the growth of its young members.

The 30,000sf fitness center and recreational facility was designed in a modern exposed structure motif and is comprised of offices, fitness rooms, a gymnasium, conference areas and outdoor facilities. The structure is a single story tilt-wall with glazed block and metal panel accents. The foundation is a moisture conditioned building pad with straight shaft cased piers supporting the tilt wall and grade beam construction.

Communication and Cooperation

Communication and cooperation from the community were key to this project's success. The site was surrounded by a creek, a large city park and residential housing; we held meetings to carefully consider impact construction was going to have on the immediate area. Loud construction procedures were performed during typical weekday work hours so as to not disturb residents. Also, we secured and monitored the site to keep park visitors and wildlife out of harm's way.
