Structure Tone Manages Construction for
Award Winning Projects in Washington, D.C.
| Construction projects managed by Structure Tone’s Washington, DC office received recognition for excellence in design from the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA). Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson won the highest honor, the Pinnacle award. Entries were judged for excellence in areas such as originality of design, coordination and use of color, integration of interior finishes and furnishings, and suitability of the design to the project function. IIDA is a professional organization dedicated to advancing the knowledge of interior design among professionals and expanding the awareness and appreciation of interior design among the general public. Award winners included: Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP Pinnacle Award and Gold Award—Commercial over 100,000sf Areas constructed for the 102,000sf, four-floor project that was designed by Gensler included: a new elevator lobby comprised of reclaimed wood, reception area, conference center, library, practice floors and amenity areas. Among the most prominent design details is the internal staircase joining floors five-eight that consists of architectural metal and glass elements and features floating polished concrete treads. Airlines Reporting Corporation Bronze Award—Commercial between 20,000 and 100,000sf Construction for the interiors of this 70,000sf, four-story project was underway at the same time as the base building construction. The state-of-the-art space features a conference center, data center, staff lounge and office space. VOA Associates (architect) incorporated curved design elements, including the acoustical tile ceiling and inlay in the carpet. Throughout the space there are also curved walls and partitions. Edelman Public Relations Bronze Award—Commercial over 100,000sf Functional space and high-end finishes were the architectural vision for this 50,000sf, two-floor renovation project. RTKL provided the design that included office space, conference rooms, reception area and an engagement room (multi-purpose room with pantry). All conference rooms were fitted with custom architectural glass partitions with applied decorative images.
