Structure Tone, NY

Structure Tone was founded in New York City in 1971 as an interior and renovation construction company.

Although the early 1970s were challenging economic times, Structure Tone flourished. Today, we are annually ranked as one of the top five contractors in New York City, and for nearly a decade ranked as the #1 Interior Contractor by ENR. Our proven expertise managing construction in one of the world’s most challenging and dynamic regions is unmatched.

Construction Expertise

The depth of our resources enables us to assign specialized teams with expertise in the project delivery for each assignment–whether a fast-track project such as High 5 Games, or short duration, smaller-scale Special Project, or a major endeavor spanning several years, such as St. Patrick’s Cathedral and multiple project phases like Macy’s.

We’re proud that most of our new business comes from repeat clients. We have developed long-term partnerships with leading companies to create– and maintain-compelling spaces for their employees and tenants. Built environments provide employees with contemporary, collaborative and flexible workspaces that increase occupancy density and optimize real estate costs.

More than 80 percent of Structure Tone’s projects are valued at less than $1 million. We couple unique insight that smaller projects require, with the purchasing power of one of  the city’s largest construction firms.

We have completed some of the city’s most challenging projects on time and budget which recently includes restoring St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the complete modernization of Macy’s flagship store, and Proskauer.

We manage complex building re-positioning projects–from lobby and plaza renovations to a full-building infrastructure upgrade, such as converting landmark MetLife Clock Tower into the Marriott EDITION— the unique luxury boutique hotel which opened in summer 2015.

We’re even more excited about the future. World-leading technology, media, financial, professional service, educational and healthcare organizations are developing and renovating buildings to attract and support the best talent. We provide our clients with the best team in construction.

Compliance

The Structure Tone organization has undertaken significant steps to enhance our corporate Compliance and Ethics Program. In addition, we have taken significant steps to enhance our preconstruction and construction process. Complete transparency and client collaboration are embedded in each step of the construction process. The program enhancements have been well received by our clients, including those in the highly regulated financial services industry. Companies have all recently re-hired Structure Tone after thorough reviews of our compliance program. Detailed information about our comprehensive compliance program can be found in our compliance section.

Employee Tenure

The most important factor of any project is the personnel. People do the work. Our employees have an average of more than 20 years of industry experience and 10 years with Structure Tone. We provide projects with veteran, savvy professionals who have a track record of on-time and on-budget project delivery at the highest levels of safety and quality.
