Yodle, recently acquired by Web.com, selected our firm to provide construction management services for their program based on our experience with the building modernization and prior successful build-outs. To create a home that could keep up with the client’s evolving demands, the project team focused on collaboration and community building. During preconstruction, our firm worked closely with Yodle and HLW International to develop a budget, provide cost-saving alternatives and finalize the design.
This 84,000sf, three-floor fit-out project was designed to reflect the company’s innovation-driven business model. The scope of work included open plan workstations, private offices, conference rooms, pantries on each floor and support areas. Huddle rooms are strategically positioned throughout the office, enabling groups to work together to solve problems and personal workstations are located around the perimeter of the floor, allowing for a greater amount of sunlight to enter the space.
The showcase of the project is the 18th floor. This “top-of-the-house” floor features double-height ceilings and a skylight that is situated in the center of the floor plan. A challenge while building out the 18th floor was working with double height ceilings which varied between 18 and 24 feet. To master this “open-ceiling” concept our team utilized scaffolding and lift equipment. A large, centrally located interconnecting stair includes stadium seating as a more casual area for impromptu meetings under the skylight. Our team installed a 21-foot projector over the stair turning it into a public assembly space.
Our project team met with representatives from Yodle on a weekly basis to review progress, new ideas or design options. A client representative was on site regularly, making the project a true collaborative effort and completing construction within the 17-week schedule.
